The final race of the season was another positive outing for Ken Roczen as the German looked to earn the runner-up spot in the already decided MX Championship. All eyes were on Gajser heading into the weekend, as he edged closer to a 3rd career World Championship after winning his ninth overall victory of the season at the previous race in Lommel.
After winning the title as a rookie in the class back inGajser faced two rough seasons filled with injuries and bad luck. In he returned with a vengeance, racking up victory after victory while taking his riding to a whole new level. Gajser would not be given an easy task on the weekend from the track, as the race surface built inside the classic Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari speedway was extremely hard and bumpy.
The sun was beating down in Imola by the time the riders lined up for the Qualifying Race, and Gajser got off to a solid start through the right handed first corner. He took the green flag in 2nd position behind Romain Febvre and stalked the Frenchman for the opening laps waiting to make his move. After eating roost over the first half of the moto, Gajser finally made the pass for the lead just before the finish line on Lap 8.
He settled into the lead after that and took a convincing win for first pick on the gate for Sunday's motos. Tim headed to the line on Sunday knowing he could wrap the title after Moto 1 with only an 8th place finish if Jeremy Seewer took the win. After not getting the cleanest start, he fought his way through the pack on the opening lap and held 4th place at the green flag with Seewer just behind him in 5th. In classic Gajser fashion, he dropped the hammer and charged to the front with his focus fully on taking the moto win.
He made quick work of Paul Jonass and Gautier Paulin and had moved into 2nd only 2 laps later. Race leader Glenn Coldenhoff was in his sights and he continued to charge before making a big mistake and going down on the following lap. The crash knocked him back to 8th but he got going again with full focus on the title. In a much more controlled manner he moved up as far as 5th, which was plenty enough to take the championship with Seewer in second. It was a hero's welcome for Gajser as he came off the track, with the entire HRC crew making their way onto the circuit to greet him.
Champagne sprayed and red smoke filled the air as Tim and his team celebrated the ultimate achievement in the MXGP world. Gajser was overcome with emotion as he soaked in the moment and relished in the third World Championship of his young career.
With all the pressure off after clinching the championship, there was still work to be done and Tim headed to the line for MXGP Moto 2. Another mediocre start had him sitting 4th at the green flag, and he let the race come to him this time as he cruised to 2nd place. He went for 3rd Overall on the day, but the only moment he'll remember from the day is raising the 1 plate on the podium.
Gajser's second career premier class title comes with three rounds of the championship remaining. His domination during the middle part of the season that included a streak of 7 overall victories put him in the perfect position to wrap the title up early. With Championship strategy in mind, Wright was forced to be more calculated and patient during his races. In Moto 1, Wright started in the top 5 and patiently waited for the lead riders to shuffle themselves into race order before making his moves.
On lap five, Wright took control of the lead and never looked back while on his way to the win and clinched the Championship.
While the race day was only half completed, Dylan held back on any celebrations until all the work was done for the day. In Moto 2, Wright mimicked his previous moto performance and sat patiently in the top five position before making his move to the lead position and then walking away with another dominant clean sweep!
Colton Facciotti — cc Champion. Nearing the final gate drops of his career, Colton Facciotti walked into the Walton Raceway looking as calm and comfortable as ever. While embracing his final laps of his Pro career, Facciotti was able to stop and salute the fans on his hot lap before lining up and getting to work on earning his 6 th Championship. In Moto 1, Faccoitti started in the top three, then rode steady and patient moving himself into the second place position where he would comfortably finish out the race.
In Moto 2, Facciotti got the jump on the start and rounded the first corner in second place. By lap three, Facciotti was in the lead and holding a tight grip on his title. On the closing laps of the race, Facciotti rode conservative and to avoid any unnecessary altercations, Colton slide back to the second place position where he would finish out the moto and bowed out of his career winning his 6 th Canadian National Championship!
Upcoming Series:. The opening race is September 14 th at the Montreal Olympic Stadium. While Facciotti will sit out the remainder of the season, cc rider Dylan Wright is hunting down his third title of the season and has his eyes on the Triple Crown prize. The race track catches the eye of passing motorists who often pull over to watch some road-side racing. The track is clay based and with the proper amount of watering and tilling, the corners form long sweeping deep ruts that provide multiple line choices during the race.
The high speeds of the track make every jump exciting as riders scrub their way into lower lap times. The Toys Tech Shed located on-site of the race helped push the brand all week weekend with their Made For Motocross themed pop-up shop.
Dylan Wright — cc Class; 1 st place. Undoubtedly the fastest rider in the cc class this season, Dylan Wright continues to bring more speed every weekend as the season progresses. Sweeping moto wins on his way to consecutive overall victories, Wright is in command of the championship with only three rounds remaining.
Beginning the race day with the pole position qualifying time, Wright looked as comfortable as ever on the rutted Riverglade track. In Moto 1, Wright battled within the top five bracket but by lap six, made the pass for the lead while recording the fastest lap of the moto by any racer. In Moto 2, Wright was in the early lead and checked out from everyone for the clean sweep victory for his sixth moto win in a row and his third overall victory in a row. Mike Alessi — cc Class; 1 st place.
On pace to close in on the cc Championship, Mike Alessi has been bar to bar with the race winners and current points leader each moto since resuming racing in the East. Paired with his impeccable starting technique, Alessi has been starting up front and finishing up front each weekend making him the biggest wild card as the series closes. Qualifying in the pole position, Alessi had first gate pick to line up his patented holeshot for Moto 1. After rounding the first corner, Alessi checked out from the rest of the riders and led every lap for the win.
In Moto 2, Alessi nailed another holeshot and would again start to check out. Teammate and current points leader, Facciotti was determined to close the gap and not let Mike win that easy, but Alessi would hold him off on the last lap taking the win.

This victory earned Alessi his second Overall Victory sweep of the season and moves him into a strong second place in series points. Colton Facciotti — cc Class; 2 nd place. Consistency wins Championships and Colton Facciotti is applying that yet again.
Qualifying in second place behind his teammate, Colton Facciotti was riding steady and waiting for his moments to push out of his comfort zones. In Moto 1, Facciotti started in fourth place and remained there unchallenged for the entire race until being gifted a position due to another riders mechanical and finished the race in third place.
In Moto 2, Facciotti started in third place and rode patiently there the entire race until taking advantage of a rider going down in front of him and advancing into second place. Next Race:. The track is a sand based soil and has natural elevation which creates some deep sand whoops, up and down the track. With temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius, the race weekend was very demanding on the riders.
The Sand-Del-Lee raceway is primarily a sand track, but amongst the soil is a hard clay base that forms aggressive, choppy breaking bumps that becomes a game of line choice when navigating the track. The corners are typically loamy sand that require the utmost forward momentum to power the bike through without losing speed.
Looking to continue his dominance in the East, Dylan Wright was rolling into his home town track with the expectation of repeating his victory at Sand Del Lee. Qualifying in the pole position, Dylan was on pace as the fastest rider.
By lap one, Wright advanced up to seventh place and continued his charge until taking the lead with five laps remaining for the win. In Moto 2, Wright was battling in the top 5 during the start before passing his way into second place on the opening lap. Wright then set his sights on the race leader and made the pass for the lead on lap ten, giving him the eventual win.
With only four rounds of the MX Tour remaining, Colton Facciotti is closing in on what could be his sixth Championship. Knowing each weekend is unpredictable, the only strategy Facciotti has is to remain consistent and on the podium every weekend until the finale in Walton.
In Moto 1, it was all Facciotti as he started up front and then checked out from everyone and lead every lap of the moto in dominating style while extendeding his time differential to seconds by the end of the race. In Moto 2, Facciotti was less fortunate during the start and was stuck battling in the top-five positions for the early laps of the race.
Only able to advance up to the fourth place position by the finish, it was enough to tie Colton for the overall win, but in a tie breaker decision, he was forced to settle for a 2 nd place Overall finish which still increased his Championship lead to 18 points. Mike Alessi — cc Class; 3 rd place.
With only four rounds of racing left, Alessi can close in on the points chase and put himself into contention for the title. In Moto 1, Alessi got a top ten start but in just three laps passed his way into the third place position. By the half-way point of the race, Alessi had done all the work he could do and had to settle for 2 nd place behind his teammate and championship points leader.
The Riverglade Motocross track is a staple in the Atlantic region and draws some of the most enthusiastic fans of the entire season. With the Gopher Dunes Racing team being based directly at the Gopher Dunes track, the familiarity of the surroundings are in favour of the GDR crew on race weekend, but The Dunes track is never biased or kind to any rider and every win is equally earned. A clean start for in Moto 1 allowed Wright to patiently work his way from 3 rd place to 1 st place in five laps before extending the lead and checking out to the finish.
In Moto 2, Wright got the Holeshot Award, but had to defend every inch of his lead for the next ten laps and was even overtaken momentarily before quickly re-passing and checking out again for the win. Dylan now has a 14 point lead in the cc MX Tour Championship with four rounds to go.
Finishing just shy of the podium several times so far this season, Mike Alessi has been showing that speed by leading laps, but has been unable to finish strong so far. With a month break in the schedule, Alessi was able to focus on his program and came back to the Gopher Dunes prepared to win. Starting the day with the pole position qualifying spot as well, Alessi looked to be back in form and ready for his first podium of the season.
Narrowly missing the holeshot in Moto 1, Alessi made an early pass for the lead on lap five and then extended his lead for the next thirteen laps for the win.
In Moto 2, Alessi got the Holeshot Award and rode a flawless moto earning the win and his first overall Victory of the season. Continuing to carry the series leading Red Plate for the fourteenth weekend in a row, Colton Facciotti is still fighting for every inch of his championship lead. With a minimal points gap, Facciotti is needing to apply his consistency for the remainder of the series to bring home the title.
In Moto 1, Facciotti started up front in the lead group but was in the heat of a battle for the next several laps and exchanged positions within the top five before settling into the fourth position by the finish. In Moto 2, Facciotti started up front again and logged consistent laps and finished out the moto in a respectable fourth place for a 4 th overall. Round 3 of the MX Tour was held at McNabb Valley Raceway which is surrounded by rolling canola fields and is a popular layout amongst the riders.
Poor weather was lurking, and while rain is otherwise welcomed for farming, the skies turned on race day and conditions became one of a struggle and strategy. Clocking the fastest qualifying time of the morning when the track was still in an adequate condition, Wright earned himself the very important first gate pick in Moto 1.
The most important part of the mud race is always going to be the start. Wright held on to come around lap one in 4 th place, but without vision.
Putting his head down and gritting it out passing his way into the lead by lap five, Wright rode out the next five laps to take an impressive moto win, and the subsequent overall victory keeping his cc series points lead and the Red Plate. Looking strong in Qualifications with a second place time, Facciotti made his gate selection and hoped for the best. A bad jump off and slow pull down the start left Facciotti working his way around the track on lap one in 5 th place.
After picking off several downed riders at the mid-way point of the moto, Facciotti settled into 2 nd place and rode it in for the eventual Overall Podium finish. With his podium finish, Facciotti extended his points lead to 8 and continues his Red Plate streak to 14 races in a row. Still looking for his first podium finish of the season, Mike Alessi has had a consistent West coast, leading laps and racing inside the top five battles each moto. Qualifying in 6 th place, Alessi would hope for a patented MA holeshot to keep him up front in the muddy Minnedosa conditions.
Alessi will start the East coast with in a respectable top five and be in full stride for his podium run. The mid-season break will be utilized wisely by the team to come back even more prepared to win.

Vlaanderen looks to return by Round 10 of the series at Teutschenthal. Tim Gajser started off on a high note by clocking the fastest time in qualifying practice. However, he struggled at the start of the qualifying race and took the green flag in 6th position.
He made some good moves throughout the moto, but ran out of time and had to settle for second behind Romain Febvre. Nonetheless, he showed great composure to bring it home safe, which would become vital for Sunday's motos.
At the start of MXGP Moto 1, Tim Gajser just narrowly missed the holeshot but gained control quickly on the opening lap and took the green flag at the photos augmentation mammaire bonnet c of the field. He tailed Coldenhoff on the very one lined track and was able to make a move on lap 7, taking control of the lead. He set the pace again and withstood a big push from Arnaud Tonus just a few laps after taking the lead. He shut Tonus down when he dove for a pass and cruised on to the win after that challenge.
It was another Victory for Gajser and this one was extra sweet as he took control of the Championship standings by 13 points over Tony Cairoli. The series continues next week in Latvia and Gajser will take on the best in the world with the coveted Red Plate on his HRC machine. The nemesis of the Blackwater track is the choppy and harsh breaking and acceleration bumps that put riders and equipment to the test. Having won the overall victory last season at Blackwater MX Park and starting his morning off with the fastest qualifying time this season, Dylan Wright was poised to be the front runner at Round 2. Dylan put his head down and did the unthinkable and managed to finish the moto while the bike had fallen apart beneath him. After a quick change to his back up practice bike for Moto 2, Wright got the jump again and made another quick pass for the lead and pulled away and went on to ride a flawless race for the win.
In Moto 1, Facciotti raced up front in the top three for the opening seven laps before settling into the second-place position for the remaining eleven laps. In Moto 2, Facciotti took the Royal Distributing Holeshot award and raced away from the pack for a flawless win and even set his fastest lap of the race on the last time.
Coming off a frustrating opening race, Mike Alessi was looking to improve his finishes and get a podium result at Round 2 to begin building his seasons momentum. Notorious for impeccable starts, Alessi has been battling up front on the lead pace but has fallen just short of the podium when the checkers come out.
In Moto 1, Alessi was up front as expected and lead a few laps but was shuffled back to the 4 th place position at the halfway point of the race where he finished. Thanks to record rainfall, the Southern California hills are alive like never before.
We just knew it was an awe-inspiring landscape we wanted to experience for ourselves… and on two wheels. We set out after work and rode until the setting sun told us to stop. We, of course, brought along our resident photo guru, Gordon Dooleyto capture every moment. The fields were blanketed as far as the eye could see.
Cresting each hill unveiled a myriad of flowers dotting the landscape. We had to stop numerous times just to sit and take in the view. Even though Southern California is a popular center of life, and highway traffic and crowds are the norm, out in the rolling hills we felt a million miles from anywhere.

After months of detailed preparation as well as multiple pre-season warm up races, the big dance was finally here and the riders were chomping at the bit to get going. Gajser's MX2 teammate Calvin Vlaanderen was also notable for the start of the season as the South African born rider enters his second season with the HRC team and has been tagged as a championship contender.
He grabbed the holeshot in the Qualifying Race on Saturday afternoon and held the lead until running into some issues with 5 laps to go. He first slid out in a corner, then had a big crash in the roller section just a few turns later. Luckily he was uninjured and remounted to finished up 9th despite the big get-off. In MX2, Calvin Vlaanderen was in the mix with his Qualifying times but suffered a not so spectacular start in the Qualifying Race - forcing him to battle from behind.
He put in a solid effort and worked his way up to 5th from outside of the top 10 for a solid gate pony rides catani gardens on Sunday. He put in a solid ride and finished up in 4th place. Moto 2 was almost a carbon copy of the opening race for Vlaanderenstarting 5th again and moving to 4th where he stayed for the rest alimentation pour maigrir interdit xml the race.
Despite missing the podium by just 1 spot in 4th Overall, it was a really positive start to the season for Vlaanderen who will be surely stand atop the podium in the coming weeks. After his big crash on Saturday, Tim Gajser returned to the fray a little sore but ready to go for Sunday's race program. The Slovenian started 4th in Moto 1, and was able to work his way past both Clement Desalle and Romain Febvre for 2nd at the end.
In Moto 2 Tim started off 2nd, dropped to 3rd momentarily but took control of second position back by Lap 7. In the closing stages of the race he was closing on race leader Tony Cairoli, but ran out of time before he was able to get close enough to make a move.
Gajser scored results for 2nd Overall and also a great start to begin the year. New addition to the Fox crew, Factory Yamaha's Jeremy Seewer earned himself a respectable Top 10 overall finish over the weekend with a 9th. After missing all of last season riddled with injuries, HRC's Brian Bogers got his year started with moto scores for 18th Overall. Surely Bogers will bring more to the table as the season progresses but it was good to see him back out there competing after a tough season.
See you there! This week, Supercross headed to Atlanta for an East, West showdown - where teammates and red plate holders would face off. However, both riders would finish first in their respective series. With two wins in the race format, Adam has become somewhat of a showdown specialist.
However, even with that resume, besting his undefeated teammate, Austin Forkner, was a told order. He had his work cut out for him from the beginning. After turn one, Forkner took the lead — as he has all year — and with a clear track, was off to the races. Adam, sitting in third, would show his speed as he passed Chase Sexton and later reeled in his teammate Forkner.
He would light the candles in Atlanta to become the first three-time showdown winner in Supercross history. Both riders would run the red plate, however, with an undefeated win streak, Austin was the one to beat. When the gate dropped, both Kawasaki pilots wasted no time getting to the front. Austin would take the holeshot and led the opening laps.
He would eventually be passed by teammate Adam Cianciarulo and later Dylan Ferrandis to finish third. However, he was the fastest east-coast rider and extends his points lead to Davalos started mid-pack in the main event. From there, he played defense to keep the competition at bay, finishing eighth on the night. In the main, he was pinched out of the lead group as the field rounded turn one.
This would force him to work through the pack. With three minutes left, he would be involved in a crash. It took him a while to recover and he settled for 20th. A crash in the main compounded issues, dropping him to 21st. He would regroup to salvage 12th. McAdoo struggled all night. He had a rough heat race and was forced to get to the main via the LCQ.
In the main, he was riding mid-pack until a crash would have him settle for 16th. In Atlanta, Chase flashed his speed once again.
For the first half of the race he challenged for the win. However, a few small mistakes dropped him to forth. It was just off the podium, but Chase was happy with the ride.
In the main, Roczen had an impressive start — rounding the first turn from the outside in second place. Unfortunately, he would lose momentum through the first rhythm section and drop multiple positions.
He would work his way to 5th and take advantage of a mistake by Plessinger to take 4th. Having lost touch with the lead group, he would finish in 4th place. He would get pinched in the start and got buried in 12th. He would hold his position for most of the race, eventually finishing 13th.

Austin Forkner took his second consecutive win in dominant fashion, furthering his points lead. In the class, we witness the closest finish in Supercross history — just 0. Austin was perfect all night. He was first in his heat race, qualified first, and won the main. The Pro Circuit rider had another stellar start — rounding turn one in second place.
He would quickly make the pass for 1st, lead every lap and took his second consecutive win of the season. Davalos had a solid night - a great rebound from last week.
